Find your bearings.
Then choose a route.

Bitcoin is a starting point, not the whole map. Place its forks, other projects and the platforms between them before you decide what to learn next.

One name can hide
very different things.

Not sure where to begin?

Start with one reference point.

Bitcoin is the centre of our learning map. Its native asset is BTC. Bitcoin Core is software used to validate Bitcoin, rather than another coin.

Follow the branch, then read the label.

A chain split can leave two networks with shared history and different rules. BCH split from Bitcoin; BSV later split from BCH. Each is a separate asset.

A familiar name can mark a different region.

The Bitcoin Ecosystem project describes a family of six chains with distinct roles. We place it in its own region: project descriptions need their own evidence.

Widen the map without losing your bearings.

Ethereum is a smart-contract platform. Stablecoins aim to track a reference. A different purpose or consensus method gives you different questions to ask.

Check the port before the passage.

Exchanges are places people use to enter this space. Learn the platform type, who holds the keys and what withdrawals involve before you compare names.

What would help you
find your way?

You can start with the names, follow a fork or examine how a platform holds coins. Pick a question and the route finder will point you to a guide.
